About Bayou Noir Newfys

Bayou Noir Newfys, LLC was established in 2005 for the purpose of breeding and finding good homes for our amazing Newfoundland puppies. The owners and operators of Bayou Noir Newfys are Bev and Jay Grimes.

Our kennel is located on Graveline Bayou in Gautier, Mississippi. Our bayou has its share of Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Green Herons, Ospreys, Snowy Egret,s and Brown Pelicans that both Newfys, and especially Bonnie, like to watch from our deck overlooking the bayou. And on occasion, a Bald Eagle flies overhead and an alligator swims past our dock. Fortunately, neither Beau nor Bonnie has jumped in for a swim with the gators!

Our first litter of puppies was born to Bonnie on February 3, 2011. The sire was Beau, our first Newfoundland, and all are doing well. Actually, aside from some initial interest and sniffing, Beau is pretty much oblivious to the whole father thing. Bonnie, on the other hand, is an excellent mother and we’re told by the owner of Seagirt Newfoundlands that she must take after her mother Claire who was extremely sweet and friendly.

Our dogs are cared for by Bienville Animal Medical Center in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
