Alongside a Mississippi bayou, we are raising magnificent Newfoundland dogs. Our first litter of eight puppies will be available for sale later this spring. Most experts agree that this breed originated in Newfoundland and that its ancestors were the offspring of dogs native to Newfoundland and the “Black Bear Dogs” brought to Newfoundland by the Vikings around 1000 A.D. The Newfoundland is a strong but gentle breed called by many the “gentle giant.” Our Newfys (also called Newfs and Newfies for short) are playful and loyal with a sweet disposition – we often call them our “Goofy Newfys.” Bayou Noir Newfys is a home-based kennel and we sincerely hope that you like our magnificent Newfoundland dogs.
